The Stark Energy team is an experienced group of energy professionals who are passionate about making a positive contribution to the large-scale replacement of climate change inducing electricity generation.

By utilising the latest technology and rethinking the entire approach to distributed generation of electricity, we operate a sustainable energy business built to adapt in a market which has seen dramatic changes over the last decade. We specialise in developing, engineering, building, and operating distributed energy projects.


Meet the Team

Anthony Brindle

Director

Anthony has had an established career in renewable energy and finance and is a co-founder of Stark Energy.

Prior to founding Stark Energy, Anthony spent ten years investing into and developing over 1.5 gigawatts of renewable energy projects across the UK, Europe, and Australia. Through these experiences Anthony has gained detailed knowledge of all aspects of the industry, and uses this experience to steer the business to develop projects which work for landowners, local communities, and long-term investors.

Anthony Riley

International Director

Anthony is a qualified solicitor and has spent over 20 years advising on renewable energy transactions, on a domestic and international basis, prior to co-founding Stark Energy.

Anthony has served as a partner in three major international law firms. He has advised on numerous acquisitions, disposals and joint development arrangements in respect of solar projects with a combined installed capacity in excess of 2GW.

Anthony holds an MBA from IE and Brown Universities and is fluent in French and German. He is responsible for Stark Energy's international markets and operations.

Robert Hitchcock

Development Director

Robert is an experienced project manager and developer of solar PV projects in the UK, and has been with Stark Energy since summer 2019.

Robert has a passion for sustainability and helping landowners to benefit from the income diversification that renewable energy can bring. Robert manages the development team and oversees Stark Energy's site selection and design process, ensuring that our projects are suitably located and work with their surroundings.

Felicity Sharp

Finance Director

Felicity is a qualified accountant with experience working across a number of sectors and with a variety of stakeholders. Having qualified with a Big Four accountancy firm, Felicity specialised in corporation tax, before taking up a managerial role in the finance department of a FTSE 100 business.

Having joined Stark Energy in 2021, Felicity is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, governance and assurance of the business, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Matthew Brindle

Development Director

Matthew joined Stark Energy in early 2021 and his role is focused on the identification of new projects and working with grid operators and landowners to negotiate the early hurdles of the development process.

Prior to joining Stark Energy, Matthew worked in data analytics and the project management of large scale infrastructure projects.

Thomas Schindler

Director

Thomas manages Stark Energy's German business and also lends a hand with planning projects, contract negotiations and exchanges with communities and authorities.

For many years he worked in the residential and office sector as a construction project manager both during the planning and construction phase for large district projects. Due to his motivation to make a positive contribution to the energy transition and against climate change, he switched to solar project development and was able to achieve great success in just a few years.

Zac Dennis

Analyst

Zac joined Stark Energy in 2022, after graduating from the University of Liverpool with a BSc in Geography. Zac's role is to negotiate cable easement agreements and provide modelling and transaction support.

Ed Green

Analyst

Ed joined Stark Energy in 2023, after graduating from the University of Liverpool with a BSc in Geography. Ed's role is to identify land which is suitable for new projects, and to provide analytic insight on electricity grid networks and new geographical markets.
